301 Children Still Missing from 2005 May Be in Stranger’s Hands Over the Holidays

Tucson, AZ — December 22nd, 2005 — There are 301 children still missing from 2005 that may be in stranger’s hands over the holidays. This is just a small percentage of all the missing children in the United States and worldwide. These cases range from stranger abductions, endangered missing, missing, lost, endangered runaways 15 and under and family abductions with a felony warrant. How can this be if we’ve maybe only heard about half a dozen missing children in the news? Only high-profile cases seem to make it into the media.

Please look at the online poster at http://childfindersnet.org and see how many more children are missing. These photos of cases come from the NCMEC (National Center for Missing and Exploited Children) so they are bona fide cases. Click on any of the photos and you will see the full poster. ChildFindersNet.org is a not-for-profit organization founded to bring some hope to grieving families and all the missing children that they will not be forgotten. It was founded on the premise that all children deserve to be searched for until they are found and there are positive steps that can be take before, during and after an abduction to keep our children safe and return them safely. ChildFindersNet.org also supports search and rescue efforts and promotes educating children and their parents on how to stay safe so the tragedy of abduction is averted or if abducted the chances of being found are maximized.

Imagine spending the holidays this year not knowing where your child is! Imagine trying to celebrate with your family and other children if you know that one of your children might be in stranger’s hands. Let’s say at worst that all these children had careless or horrible parents who don’t deserve to have their children back, do we turn our back on these children and leave them in the horror of stranger’s hands. Let’s say at worst that all these children are dead, do they not deserve to be found and given a proper burial. It is time for people to help out in finding these children as if they were their own. At some time someone has seen one of these missing children and it is only by looking at the photos that you might know that. Through uniting together we can make a difference now and raise the stakes for those contemplating doing it in the future. It is time to stop these people so the world is safer for our children by at least letting them know we will not stop searching.

For the past two years ChildFindersNet.org has been organizing teams with now over 1000 volunteers in at least five countries (USA, Canada, UK, Australia and New Zealand) and almost all 50 states to support families to immediately setup search activities in concert with the authorities and to continue those efforts until the child is found. Their mission is to keep all missing children’s pictures in front of the media and public, to assist families, authorities and other missing children organizations in searching for each missing child within hours by both conventional and unconventional methods and to educate children and parents in the best safety tips to avoid abduction or to be found if abducted. This network of volunteers believes that every child deserves to be searched for and found whether dead or alive no matter what race, sex or type of case, that prompt response by everyone in the community is critical to the safe return of the children, that all conventional and unconventional methods of searching for a child will be explored and utilized in relation to their effectiveness and that certain steps can be taken to limit the exposure of a child to an abductor or increase the chances of being found if abducted.

In our wonderful United States of America and other great countries of the free world children deserve to be searched for if abducted until they are found no matter what race, sex or type of case. Amber-Alerts have been a fantastic tool to get the word out on children just missing but within a day or two these children are forgotten. This is one big Amber Alert to all the children still abducted or lost. As the song, Greatest Love of All, says, "I believe the children are our future, teach them well and let them lead the way, show them all the beauty they possess inside, give them a sense of pride to make it easier, let the children’s laughter remind us how we used to be."
