Chimpanzee Swings to Victory in Backgammon Tournament

(PRLEAP.COM) Nutz, the swinging chimpanzee better know for his cameo appearances in movies such as Gorillas in The Mist, Greystoke – the Legend of Tarzan Lord of the Jungle and The Cannonball Run, has finished first in the ‘All-State Backgammon Tournament 2006’. 250 competitors in total participated. Nutz was a late registrant who was added to the running initially just to boost morale and numbers and promote his new movie, a remake of the classic Rudyard Kipling story ‘The Jungle Book’.

The action and intensity grew as Barbara ‘Babs’ Ardour, the reigning champion and Nutz’ opponent at the final showdown, rolled a double six within the first few throws of the game. Then, Nutz was almost disqualified for eating the doubling cube. However, after two dozen bananas were presented to Nutz as a gift from his admiring fans, he settled in knuckled down and played as good, if not better than any past champion of this coveted award. Nutz, as usual, was wearing the baseball cap and t-shirt embroidered with the logo of his sponsors, www.free-backgammon-games.com.
