(PRLEAP.COM) Following the success of the UK’s Alex Tew’s web marketing bonanza known as the Million Dollar Home Page, imitators of all varieties now dot the Internet landscape.
One such website, OmahaMillionDollarHomePage.com, based in Omaha, Nebraska is trying to take advantage of the highly popular advertising trend to promote the Omaha area, its people, and businesses. Owner Steve Sangimino says,

"Nearly everyday the people of Omaha hear from the media about how Omaha is becoming well-known throughout the country as such a great city to live in. That’s something the people of Omaha have known for years. I’ve been in the service for a few years and, consequently, was lucky enough to experience quite a few cities throughout the United States. Believe me, I’m speaking from experience when I say that ‘there IS NO place like Nebraska’! And that is why I decided to take a chance on this website – to put my money where my mouth is and do something to try and promote this great city and state of ours. I truly believe it to be a worthy cause and I’m happy to be able to do this.”


Although the site is open to anybody on the internet (excluding porn/obscene/violent/hate-based sites), the site’s creator hopes that a vast majority of the space will be taken up by the Omaha area people, their businesses and their personal websites. Steve explains further, “The site is NOT just for businesses! My intention is to have people buy ad space for their personal websites too! My vision is to have a website that is FOR and ABOUT the people in the Omaha area.”

So what makes his site so different than the others? Well, here’s the pitch: The site will allow free advertising until the end of March to allow clients to ‘test the waters’ and determine for themselves whether an ad on OmahaMillionDollarHomePage.com is worth their investment. After that time, the client can either remove his ad with no obligation or can purchase the space they have used.

Mr. Sangimino doesn’t deny that the opportunity to earn money didn’t slip his mind, but he insists that although the one-time payments would benefit him in the beginning, in the LONG run, the REAL benefit is to the city of Omaha, its surrounding area and the state of Nebraska as a whole.
