Interactive SMS for Musicians- Unwired Bands Helps Independent Bands and Musicians Go Mobile

May 11, 2005 -- Unwired Appeal launches a new service aimed at helping musicians promote their music and interact wirelessly with their fans.

Unwired Bands is actually a combination of services including ringtone delivery and a host of interactive SMS text-messaging services that enable a band to engage and grow their fan base. Fans are able to opt-in for SMS band alerts, participate in mobile voting and trivia, and play along in contests and promotions – all from their cell phones.

The wireless demographic is right on target for many indie bands. Recent surveys of USA cell phone users show that 90% of the 18-34 age group own cell phones and the majority use SMS text-messaging on a regular basis.
