Kagan VOD and Basic Cable Network Conferences to Tackle Implications of 39.2 mil. On-Demand Cable Television Households by 2008, Double Current Access

May 5, 2005 -- Two Kagan conferences to be held in New York City, June 28 - 29, bring together leading cable television executives, including cable operators, programmers and technologists. Kagan's sixth annual VOD Summit addresses developments in the on-demand sector and Kagan's Economics of Basic Cable Conference analyzes the economics of new and existing cable networks.

With nearly 20 mil. homes now wired for VOD access, Kagan Research projects this number to nearly double to 39.2 mil. by the end of 2008.

Given the tremendous growth in deployments planned for the on-demand television space, what are the challenges and opportunities now facing operators, programmers, technologists and investors? Which revenue strategies and economic tactics are the right ones to adopt at this stage? Going forward, what are the best programming and advertising models for start-ups and incumbents? What are the competitive concerns for long-term viability? Who are the likely winners and losers, and why?

These questions and more will be featured at these two events:
