Motorists Fed Up with Red Light and Speed Cameras(PRLEAP.COM) Harrisburg, Pa. — Drivers are frustrated because they believe red light and speed cameras are entrapping them when they are actually trying to obey the law — something a real police officer does not do.
News reports in recent months have documented many problems with the cameras, yet their use continues to grow. Problems include: • Yellow lights that are so short most drivers cannot stop in time to avoid a ticket. • Drivers slam on their brakes when the light turns yellow to avoid a ticket, resulting in getting rear-ended by the car behind them. • Red-light cameras are taking pictures of cars before they even cross the stop line at the intersection, resulting in many tickets being sent to innocent drivers. • Drivers who make a right turn on red get tickets that no real police officer would give. • Speed cameras have been proven in government tests to be inaccurate and give out tickets to drivers who are not speeding. In other words the technology is not perfect, but the success of the system is not measured by accuracy, it is measured by the revenue produced. "As long as the cameras are profitable the cities will continue to put them up," said Joe Scott of PhantomPlate, Inc. "And the more cameras they install, the more people they anger. Those angry people become happy when they find PhotoBlocker (tm)." His company makes PhotoBlocker (tm), a spray used by more and more drivers as a form of protection against unjust tickets. PhotoBlocker (tm) is a simple aerosol spray that when applied to a license plate does not in any way alter the appearance of the plate to the naked eye, but the flash picture from a red-light camera or speed camera makes the number on the plate unreadable. Over 500,000 cans of the spray have been sold, according to Scott. "Drivers are tired of getting tickets they do not deserve. The cost in time and money to defend themselves is excessive, so they would rather use PhotoBlocker (tm) spray to save money by preventing the unjust tickets. We want our roads to be safe, and we do not encourage anyone to break the law. But we know how frustrating it is to get a ticket you do not deserve," explained Scott. "We get calls, e-mails and letters from many professionals who use PhotoBlocker spray. Journalists, doctors, lawyers, firefighters, teachers, judges and police officers themselves have resorted to using PhotoBlocker spray to avoid entrapment," said Scott. The company is located in Harrisburg, Pa. and has a web site at http://www.PhotoBlocker.com.
