New Website Helps Buyers & Renters Find Real Estate In Albany, California.

May 8, 2005 -- Albany is not just a city in New York. On May 5th 2005, in Albany, Calif., a new website was launched that helps educate people about the real estate situation in the city.

"The prices here are very high, and the demand is great too" said Jay Gilbert, owner of the newly formed website. "I put this site up because I live here and am familiar with the city. I also may want to showcase my condominium on this site sometime."

The website can tell you what the best pizza places in the area are, and also a little bit about the public schools in the area.

The town is mostly quiet. There are a few movie theaters and shopping locations. It is only a short drive to Emeryville which has a large modern mall and two huge movie theaters.

You could also hop on a BART train and be in San Francisco within 30 minutes, according to information on the Web site.

"Albany is in demand, because it is perceived that the public school system is good," said Gilbert. "This is good for homesellers and homeowners as it increases the selling price of the homes, more so than in the neighboring city of Berkeley."

Among some of the great things about living in Albany are the proximity to the bay. There are cool breezes, and the temperature is really great, all year round. It is refreshing to live so close to the bay, Gilbert said.

The main attraction is Solano Avenue, which is a long street with a collection of quaint stores, mostly good restaurants, and small cafes. In addition, the El Cerrito shopping center is close by with some good bookstores and a weekly farmer's market.

If you are considering moving to the Bay Area, you might want to check out the city of Albany. It isn't the cheapest, but it may be one of the nicest little towns in the Bay Area.
