Print Planet Inc. Offers an Eco-Way of Doing Business

(PRLEAP.COM) New York, NY – Print Planet Inc., an environmentally conscious printing company, is a new business initiative of Michael J. Mulligan. Print Planet Inc., a Manhattan-based provider of integrated printing solutions, offers its customers environmental options such as up to 100% post consumer recycled stock and soy based inks. It is also experimenting with vegetable ink applications as another possible alternative to the commonly used petroleum based ink.

One of the company’s main priorities is to act as a socially responsible business. It is not only about the “green” products Print Planet has to offer, but it’s the way they conduct business that makes them eco-responsible. Aside from the typical green procurement/purchasing that many environmental companies boast, Print Plant has an Environmental Management System (E.M.S). The E.M.S. was developed to reduce waste and monitor the use of resources, consisting of processes and methods which examines every choice made by the company including but not limited to electricity, heating, paper for print and paper for products. Print Planet also thinks on a broader level and as a way to manage resources, it donates part of its revenue to the National Arbor Day Foundation. The NADF uses the revenue to replant trees within the United States.

Print Planet believes that companies should be accountable for their impact on the environment and Print Planet is willing to demonstrate leadership in this area. The company identifies the problem of limited natural resources and aligns itself with other vendors and clients that demonstrate similar commitments. The company is pleased that its paper vendor, Neenah, has earned the Forest Stewardship Council and Green Seal certification.

Print Planet is also proud to announce the acquisition of a new Heidelberg Printmaster Plus. This full-color printing press will enhance their ability to provide environmentally friendly printing options. Since purchasing the press, Print Planet is now able to offer its clients the option to either print digitally or offset. Both printing processes can be environmentally advantageous depending on the type and size of the job. The company’s purchase of the Heidelberg press is another step toward taking responsibility for the environment.
