The company says that it is company policy not to place ads for inmates of notoriety. Lovell also stated that the site reserves the right to refuse service.

Lovell would also like to clarify a point of misinformation reported by some media outlets. "Adrian Peeler’s brother, Russell Peeler, had also placed an ad on WriteAPrisoner.com. His ad was removed for placing a false photo. This ad was not removed as a result of public outcry as previously stated by some reporters, but as a direct result of our enforcement of company policy. WriteAPrisoner.com has a zero tolerance policy on inmates placing fraudulent information on our site. We govern ourselves with much more scrutiny than other online sites that do not verify such information. The ad was removed as soon as we were able to verify the false photo," Lovell said, adding that the company has no further statement to make to the press on this matter.
