You have made your research and figured out the market you are targeting.
There are many ways to advertise your site over the internet.

The Free Traffic sources (only takes time):

1. Join an online forum or a discussion group and make sure you are active there-Add your web site URL to your signature and here you have free advertising to your site.

2. Join a few discussion groups that are related to your site topic, here is free "targeted traffic" to your website. Make sure you saty active there and post something at least once a week.

3. Create a blog and write about yourself and about your site in your blog, connect it to your website, it's good for search engines, they like "fresh" content and blogging is the best way and it's for free. The more posts you put write the better, but for beginners even once a week is fine.

4. Do link exchange with other websites targeting the same traffic your are looking for. For example: if you are selling your art, than try to do link exchange with other artists.

Cost effective Media buy option (this one cost both money and time):

1. Advertise with Ad-words, start with a small amount of a $100 to test your advertising skills, once you got the hang of it increase your exposure and budget.

2. If free link exchange doesn't work for you (your PR is low) buy links.

3. Buy CPC (cost per click) traffic from PPC search engines, like overture for example.

4. Connect to the Google AdSense channel, put their banners on your site and start earning revenue from google for helping them serv their ads on your site.

Start with these easy to start step once you have acomplised them, you can move on the the next level of online marketing and advertising.
