Swaprocks!® Receives Registration Mark From USPTO

(PRLEAP.COM) Bound Brook, NJ – December 30, 2005 – Swaprocks! LLC has been issued their registration certificate from the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) for their application to trademark the word mark “Swaprocks!”. In addition to the legal protection of their name, it now allows Swaprocks! to use the registered trademark symbol (the “R” in a circle) instead of the temporary service mark (“SM”) that they had been using while waiting for the application process to be completed.

“Though to most the process of registering your company’s name might seem trivial,” said Frank Bridges, Swaprocks! co-founder and CEO, “we feel that this shows our long term commitment to being the best swapping site on the web. For those not in-the-know, trademarking a company’s name is a long process, and can end up costing several hundred, if not thousand, dollars.”

The USPTO reviews trademark applications for federal registration and determines whether an applicant meets the requirements for registration. Owning a trademark registration provides a legal presumption of ownership of the mark and the exclusive right to use the mark nationwide on or in connection with the goods and/or services listed in the registration, As well, it allows the owner the ability to bring an action concerning the mark in federal court.
