When it Comes to Home-Based Businesses, Failure is Not an Option HereMay 29, 2005 -- How many times have you seen ads that promise great wealth with "little or no work" on your part? In many cases, these programs are nothing short of online scams. So the question now is, "How do you weed them out?"
First of all you must know that success is a marathon, not a sprint. What I mean by that is simply this. If you are in a hurry to "get rich quick", you are a definite candidate for scam artists. You will need to have patience and persistence to succeed in business. You will also need a plan. I know you've heard it all before, but without those ingredients you will fail. You also must find a product or service that you really believe in. Why? If you like what you're involved in, you won't mind sharing it with others, and you won't mind staying involved until you achieve success. So where do you start? Start with what you want out life (that's where your plan comes in). Then, look at your budget. If you cannot afford to stay involved with your program until you achieve the desired success, you will eventually quit. That's called attrition. In a good program you can expect to achieve success in about a year. (When I say success, I'm talking about that point where you can replace your present income; you can see a profit in as little as a few weeks and in some case, a few days depending on the pay structure of the program). That being said, let's talk about what you should be willing to pay for a good program. Technically speaking, any price is worth it for a "good" program. However, if you're a tight budget, you need to find something comfortable for you. Do not get fooled by the hype you see in ads. Hype appeals to your emotions and not your logical side. The fact that a program may say "No Hype" is hype in and of itself. ALL advertising uses hype; your job is to see through the hype and get the "big picture." Beffore I tell what to look for and how much you should pay, let me make you a little angry. Hype appeals to two very basic human traits: greed and Laziness! Did that make you angry? Think about this for a moment. When you see an ad that says "Make Millions In 30 Days or Less!" What does that appeal to? Greed! Then that advertising might add this: "With No Work On Your Part!" What does that statement appeal to? You guessed it, Laziness! Everyone wants something for nothing. That's why "free" is the most powerful word in marketing. Programs that offer "spillover" usually don't unless you are among the first 1,000-2,000 people to join the program, or if you happen to be fortunate enough to find a "heavy-hitter" to place in your group. When trying to determine how much to pay for a program, be sure to add your advertising costs. Without advertising business dies. Why do you think McDonald's still advertises after all these years? Because it works! If you're paying between $70.00 - $150.00 a month for your program (which is the industry standard average) can you afford an additional $50.00 - $200.00 for advertising? Most people cannot so they begin to cut back on their expenses. Which do you think is the first thing to be cut from the budget? If you said, "advertising", you can move to the head of the class. Now of course there is free advertising, but remember that you get what you pay for. How many "free" ads do YOU read? Your ad will be buried among millions of other ads. So the key here is to find an affordable (and viable)opportunity, then use the bulk of your money for advertising. After you have made enough from your "lower-cost" program, you can then join a higher priced one. That's called "leveraging". Investors do it all the time. They take their profits form one investment and leverage it into another. It is the key to success. Don't be in a hurry to succeed; you'll get there a lot faster if you take your time (just ask the tortoise). Remember what I said earlier about success being a marathon and not a sprint? Take your time, use your logic and be prepared for a few set-backs along the way. Okay, I told you I would tell you how much you should spend for a good program so here it is. Start with what you can afford! It's just that simple. Don't spend more than you can afford to do without while you're waiting for the success level you're looking for. There are some programs that you can start for as little as $5.00, but even these require you to work at building your business. Don't get lazy! Below are some good places to start looking. The Marathon Project (Only $5.00 a month) http://457818.marathonproject.net NPN (Only $10.00 a month) http://thenpn.biz/?id=102 Rapid Booster (Only $25.00 a month) http://www.rapidbooster.com/?id=345 IGAM (This one gives you money to join) http://www.igiveawaymoney.com?madmoneynow A word of caution. Beware of one-time pay programs; they usually slow down or die because of a lack of "fresh money" coming in. Consider this. If a company stops making money, how can they continue to pay money?
