The battle is actual.
“Jean-Michel [Basquiat] known as,” Mr. Warhol wrote in his diary on Sept. 5, 1983. “He’s afraid he’s simply going to be a flash within the pan. And I instructed him to not fear, that he wouldn’t be. However then I received scared as a result of he’s rented our constructing on Nice Jones and what if he’s a flash within the pan and doesn’t have the cash to pay his lease?”
Each writer, promoter, impresario, and member of the family worries about this, at the least a bit. The great ones acknowledge the battle and dance with it.
Battle of curiosity is actual. And as Fred Wilson says, if there isn’t a battle, there isn’t a curiosity.
