Scott Grannis was Chief Economist from 1989 to 2007 at Western Asset Administration Firm, a Pasadena-based supervisor of fixed-income funds for institutional traders across the globe. He was a member of Western’s Funding Technique Committee, was accountable for creating the agency’s home and worldwide outlook, and offered session and recommendation on funding and asset allocation methods to CFOs, Treasurers, and pension fund managers. He specialised in evaluation of Federal Reserve coverage and rate of interest forecasting, and spearheaded the agency’s analysis into Treasury Inflation Protected Securities (TIPS). Previous to becoming a member of Western Asset, he was Senior Economist on the Claremont Economics Institute, an financial forecasting and consulting service headed by John Rutledge, from 1980 to 1986. From 1986 to 1989, he was Principal at Leland O’Brien Rubinstein Associates, a monetary providers agency that specialised in refined hedging methods for institutional traders.
