Byju’s disaster: Byju Raveendran-led edtech agency mentioned it believes an amicable settlement could be reached with Board of Management for Cricket in India (BCCI) that had filed a petition in search of insolvency proceedings towards the agency over unpaid dues. The Nationwide Firm Legislation Tribunal’s (NCLT’s) Bengaluru bench, on Tuesday, admitted BCCI’s plea towards Byju’s.

BCCI had filed the plea final 12 months in October over unpaid dues of Rs 158 crore. Byju’s had a sponsorship contract with BCCI for the Indian cricket staff. On November 15 final 12 months, the matter was reserved for additional listening to. 

Admitting the plea, NCLT mentioned that it can’t be disputed that Byju’s guardian Suppose & Be taught Personal Restricted had availed the providers of the BCCI and defaulted on the cost. 

Because the insolvency decision petition has been admitted, the tribunal appointed an interim decision skilled, Pankaj Srivastava, who will now oversee the administration of Byju’s. The powers of the board of the corporate will now be suspended and can relaxation on the decision skilled.
