South African farmers are anticipated to reap 2% extra wheat within the 2023 season in contrast with the earlier season, the federal government’s Crop Estimates Committee (CEC) stated on Tuesday.
The CEC’s fifth winter wheat crop forecast estimates the 2023 wheat harvest at 2.152 million tonnes, up from the two.110 million tonnes harvested final 12 months. The newest wheat forecast is unchanged from the earlier estimate revealed on November 28.
