Moderna, Airbnb, Cloudflare, Affirm & more

Premarket trading witnessed significant movements among various companies following their quarterly earnings reports and strategic decisions.

Moderna experienced a notable increase of nearly 10%, as the vaccine manufacturer reported earnings that exceeded third-quarter expectations and revised its full-year sales growth forecast upward. The company now anticipates revenue growth of 15% to 25% by 2026, a notable rise from its prior estimate of no more than 10%.

Lam Research saw its shares rise nearly 11% after the board announced a $25 billion stock buyback program. Conversely, Five9’s shares plummeted over 17%, driven by a lowered full-year adjusted earnings guidance alongside a $325 million acquisition of Level AI.

Affirm Holdings’ stock dipped about 4% despite beating quarterly expectations and raising its full-year gross merchandise volume outlook, amidst lingering credit concerns. Axon Enterprise faced a nearly 9% decline post-earnings, as it reported weaker-than-expected results and revealed plans for a significant investment in drone company Skydio.

In contrast, Cloudflare’s share price surged 19%, buoyed by promising current quarter forecasts that surpassed analyst estimates. Meanwhile, Airbnb’s shares rose 13% following strong earnings that outpaced expectations.

Some companies faced major setbacks; Atlassian’s shares dropped over 18% amid anticipated declines in year-over-year revenue growth. DraftKings saw a staggering fall of more than 20% after reporting a wider-than-expected quarterly loss and disappointing revenue figures.

Overall, stocks tied to AI and semiconductor sectors, such as Micron Technology and Advanced Micro Devices, rebounded from yesterday’s market sell-off.
