Warren Buffett teams up with Stephen Curry for charity lunch

Warren Buffett is reviving his renowned charity lunch with a notable twist. The 95-year-old chairman of Berkshire Hathaway will collaborate with NBA champion Stephen Curry and his wife Ayesha Curry for a fundraising auction. Buffett expressed his excitement about the partnership, stating that it reflects a commitment to making a meaningful impact through collaboration with innovative nonprofits.

The auction, set to run from May 7 to May 14 on eBay, will benefit the Glide Foundation and the Eat. Learn. Play. Foundation, established by the Curry family to promote childhood literacy, nutrition, and active lifestyles. Glide, based in San Francisco, provides vital services to vulnerable communities, including meals, shelter, healthcare, and job training.

The winning bidder, along with up to seven guests, will enjoy a private lunch with Buffett and the Currys in Omaha, Nebraska, on June 24. Proceeds from the auction will be evenly split between the two charities. Buffett previously held the lunch event in 2022, which concluded a two-decade streak that raised millions for charitable causes. The 2022 auction set a record with a winning bid of $19 million, contributing to a total of over $50 million raised throughout the years. High-profile bidders in the past have included notable investors such as David Einhorn and Ted Weschler.

In early 2026, Buffett transitioned from his role as CEO of Berkshire Hathaway after leading the company for six decades but continues to serve as the chairman.
