Stocks making the biggest moves premarket: NFLX, NUE, XENE

Steel Dynamics and Nucor, two steel manufacturing companies, experienced a decline in their shares by over 1.5% in premarket trading. Netflix shares fell more than 3% following a downgrade by Wells Fargo to an underweight rating. Analysts cited concerning engagement trends and expectations of weaker content releases in the latter half of 2026, predicting lower margin expansion for the company in 2027 and 2028.

Xenon Pharmaceuticals saw its stock plummet by 25% after announcing a pause in patient enrollment for clinical studies focused on treatments for major and bipolar depression. This decision was made after the identification of neuropsychiatric side effects during the trials, although the pause is expected to be temporary.

In contrast, shares of cryptocurrency-related companies rose in premarket trading, benefiting from bitcoin prices surpassing $78,000, which marked a 2% increase. Stocks for trading platforms such as Robinhood and Coinbase climbed by 2.5% and 1%, respectively, while crypto treasury company Strategy surged by 3%.

Macom Technology Solutions recorded a 3% rise following an upgrade from BMO Capital Markets to an outperform rating. Analysts noted that the company’s valuation appears attractive after suffering a more than 35% decline from its 2026 highs, despite strong fundamentals in its data center, industrial, and defense sectors.
