Stocks making the biggest moves premarket: PYPL, AFRM, GAP, MRVL

In premarket trading, several companies have experienced significant stock movements based on recent developments.

PayPal’s shares fell nearly 16% following a report that Advent International and Stripe have decided not to pursue a buyout of the payment processor. This potential acquisition was anticipated to be one of the largest leveraged buyouts in recent history.

Affirm, a buy now, pay later service, saw its shares increase by 13% as it reported fourth-quarter revenue of $1.17 billion, exceeding the estimate of $1.11 billion. Furthermore, the company’s guidance for the first quarter is also higher than expectations.

Gap Inc. experienced a 15% rise in its stock after announcing the appointment of Michael Francis as the new CEO of Old Navy, effective November 2. His appointment follows Haio Barbeito’s tenure since 2022. Additionally, Gap’s adjusted earnings for the second quarter surpassed estimates, coming in at 52 cents per share compared to the anticipated 48 cents.

Elastic N.V. saw shares rise over 17% after providing full-year guidance that exceeded analysts’ expectations. The company projects adjusted earnings per share between $3.29 to $3.37, compared to a forecast of $3.24.

Conversely, Marvell Technology reported an 8% decrease in shares after announcing projected adjusted earnings of $1.10 per share for the current quarter, slightly above analyst expectations but indicating a cautious outlook. Similarly, Rubrik’s shares fell over 5%, despite besting revenue estimates, as its gross margin figures fell short of projections. Autodesk’s shares declined nearly 4% after its third-quarter earnings outlook did not meet analyst forecasts, projecting adjusted earnings per share of $3.04 to $3.09 against an expectation of $3.14.
