Almost 300 arrested in Florida, 17 theme park employees caught in undercover operation targeting child predators

Florida authorities have apprehended 281 individuals during a significant undercover operation aimed at combating human trafficking, prostitution, and the solicitation of minors. The arrests included 17 employees from Disney World and Universal Studios, a youth football coach, an elementary school resource officer, and an active-duty Navy servicemember.

Investigators have pinpointed 31 suspects who are accused of attempting to engage in sexual encounters with minors and have identified 11 potential victims of trafficking. This initiative follows a recent announcement by Florida Attorney General James Uthmeier, who reported that over 2,000 suspected child predators have been arrested statewide since February 2025.

In addition, the Polk County Sheriff’s Office conducted a similar operation in May, resulting in the arrest of 266 individuals in what was termed the “Polk Around and Find Out” initiative. The arrests emphasize that predators can be found in various trusted positions, rather than hiding away, as they may operate in schools, youth sports, and entertainment venues.
